Adding fonts to Illustrator can be a little cumbersome.
Adding fonts would be easier if I didn't have to restart Adobe Illustrator every time to utilize it.

Hi Corey - the Add Family button on the font page adds the fonts to your account and the apps you have logged in with the same account. Please check if you have used the same credentials in the website as well as your applications.

Or "activate" would also be good language to use.

It seems like there should be a button on the Adobe Type site that says "add font" or "add font family" and it would just show up in Illustrator in the fonts list. I thought this was what "add to library" would do, but apparently not.

Make it actually easy to add fonts to Illustrator.
