This category keeps asking for the geometric classics — Gotham twice, Neutraface, Futura, Avant Garde. The answer has reasonably been licensing: “we do not have an agreement with the foundry,” with a suggestion to find something similar. Cal Sans is a well-engineered font that provides OHno Degular- & Polymath-level customization and beyond.

Cal Sans is SIL OFL, so the negotiation is done.

It’s one to two variable file(s) whose GEOM axis passes through four families, from accessibility-first grotesque to full geometry. One slider, no stylistic sets needed. A real optical-size axis means 8 pt and 45 pt are separate drawings, so it works as a text faces, display faces and between. It was also designed to line-fit exactly with inter.

One library entry, four usable positions. Not 384 static styles.
